Head’s Up:
February 20th, 2008 by Connie | Filed under FSBO, New Plan. The mister and I’ve had some interesting conversations lately. While our original goal of 20 houses by retirement works on paper, sometimes life intervenes and sends you hurtling off in another direction. So for the next month (or two), I’ll be hunkering down into research mode and submersing into possibilities.
I’m not quite ready to blog about the changes… let’s just see what April brings and then we’ll discuss.
In the meantime, the only way to carve out enough time for research, development and redirection involves scaling back on current activities such as writing for this blog and others. I’ll be around and because the digital camera’s shiny with lots of buttons, you’re likely to be subjected to many doggie photos and mouse-hunt updates. My apologies in advance.
But, never fear– more real estate eventually. And in the meantime, if I can help in any way, please email. I’ll still be around and reading all your blogs and posting semi-witty comments.
My last article for Biggerpockets, Managing Tenants Part 4: The Home Office, is up. Many thanks to Josh for being so supportive and kind and liking my articles even when they’re clearly more fluff than substance ![]()

Yes please do stop by from time to time.
I’m keeping your blog in my reader, so I’ll know when you update your blog next.
Darn, I was so looking forward to the tale of the trailer trash. Ooops, I meant the trashed trailer.
I can only conclude you found an investing or business path that produces a better return than what you can generate with the houses. What makes you so much more successful than most at the real estate investment business is that you can do the work yourselves and add the savings to your profits for a higher return. So I am really interested in what you find that will yield even higher returns.
Hmmmmm, my guess is that you invented a better mousetrap and now you are researching how to market it….
Connie-
How exciting to be working on your future.
I’m looking forward to hearing the details once you have some you may want to share.
Blessings,
Maria
Thanks guys~ You’re making me feel all warm and squishy
Clifford~ I’ll definitely be stopping by your place~ your new format is wonderful~! Plus, I keep thinking you’re going to publish a novel or something and I want to be first in line for an autograph
AI~ I do hope that’s the case (the higher returns part). Market conditions here have changed dramatically in a very short time and we’ve got to adapt to keep moving forward. As I see it, there are actually *more* opportunities than before~ but our old plan may not be the best vehicle.
And, don’t tell anyone, but (indirectly anyway) its that trashed trailer that started this whole thing. Interesting you should mention that~ *very* perseptive!
Maria~ You’re such a sweetie
Wish you lived close by~
I’ll probably post on the blog just as often, but I’m sure you’ve noticed that the latests posts have all been mice and doggies and silly stuff~ just hated to keep throwing fluff around without some explanation.
