Do You See What I See?

January 22nd, 2008 by Connie | Filed under House Hunting, Tractor/Truck Challenge.

This property is still on the market and I’ve been rolling ideas around, trying to come up with something to make the place profitable without depleting our cash reserves completely.

So I’m standing at the kitchen sink, washing the icky-ness from the breakfast dishes, see? Minding my own business, see? And like a dufus, I notice this:

The view from my kitchen window…notice anything interesting? Neither did I.

The memory of our neighbor standing by those horses smacked me like a wet mackerel across the chops:

“Sold nannie’s house for $8000… gave the guy 4 months to move the d*** thing, but he never got ’round to it.”

I’ve been looking out that window everyday for a year without actually *seeing* that house.

The possibility of anything coming from this is slim, but the lesson’s clear enough– opportunities are everywhere if you just keep your eyes open.

So, you gonna buy the trailer and lot for less than land value, demo the trailer, buy this house from the original buyer for half of what he paid and do a move-on to the trailer lot? A lot of pieces have to fit together to make it work, but you can multitask your way through them while doing those dishes!

Yes indeedy– I’m feeling a little tired today and that seems like a lot of effort :P

But, it was quite the epiphany nonetheless… sometimes my mind gets trapped in these ruts of same same same without actually seeing opportunities sitting right up front.

    Thanks for your comment today.
I am dreaming of that next project but being patient. We’re getting close to done with the current work in progress. Lots of little details left which add up to bunches of work. This house sure is big. We’ve learned to actually look at size not just the work we can do. It’s been good though and it will be good to be done and move on.

Looking forward to keeping up with your progress.
